GETTING TO KNOW THE BRAZILIAN CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES

The role of the Legislative Body is of fundamental importance to the Brazilian society. It conducts three major functions towards democracy consolidation: represents Brazilian citizens, legislates about national matters, and controls the use of public resources.
In this context, the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, the authentic delegate of the Brazilian citizens, is responsible for bringing to reality the aspirations of the people, by discussing and voting bills in a wide variety of issues such as Economics, Social Sciences, Education, Health, Transport, Housing, among others. Besides, the Chamber is also in charge of reviewing the use of budget.
The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies is composed of members from the States and the Federal District, which enhances the representative quality of the Parliament, reflecting the Brazilian geographic, social, and economic variety.
