The Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense approved on Wednesday (9) the Bill 6176/09 of the Executive Branch that provides a donation of four helicopters of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to Bolivia. They are aircrafts manufactured in the United States, of "H-1H Iroquois" type, which Bolivia intends to use into drug trafficking combat operations.

According to the government, the Ministry of Defense is committed in signing agreements with friendly countries, aiming at narrowing bonds and allowing a more effective Brazilian participation at international issues through the military collaboration.

The Rapporteur, Deputy Urzeni Rocha (PSDB-RR) was favorable to the proposal. For him, the donation will be one of the marks at bond narrowing to Bolivia.

Rocha still reminded that the helicopters are not used anymore by FAB, and that the donation will allow maintenance spending economy.

The bill will be analyzed by other committees.
