The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Michel Temer, received this Tuesday (13th) the courtesy visit of the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Maria Nobre.

From Temer’s point of view, the visit will bond the cultural and economic relations between both countries. The President of the Chamber of Deputies reminded that the Prime Minister studied in the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) in the 80's, the “time of the political boom in the country”.

The Prime Minister said that he considers Brazil his second fatherland, since he accompanied historical moments such as the Diretas Já Campaign and the election of Tancredo Neves.

Nobre emphasized that the visit aims to reinforce the relations, so that Cape Verde becomes a connection between Brazil and Western Africa.

The Deputy Janete Pietá (PT-SP), president of the Brazil-Cape Verde Friendship Group, added that the visit of the Prime Minister contributes to the growth of relations with the Portuguese language countries. Pietá defended the inclusion of the Portuguese language in the official languages of the United Nation (UN).
