On Tuesday (12), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea, Pak Ui-Chun, praised the Brazilian effort in fighting against hunger, and its actuation in foreign politics. The chancellor made those statements during a meeting with the president of the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense, Deputy Severiano Alves (PDT-BA), who received him on behalf of the Chamber. The meeting was held at the Committee’s office.

Another subject addressed by the chancellor was Brazilian national defense. “I am focusing on media information about the offensive capacity of Brazil”, said Pak Ui-Chun.

Severiano Alves said that Brazil has never worried about his defense system. “Only now we are studying a national-defense plan. Everything is going through this committee”, he clarified.
The ambassador of North Korea in Brazil, Pak Hyok, and Deputies Valdir Colatto (PMDB-SC) and Emilia Fernandes (PT-RS) participated in the meeting.
