For deputy, Minister has made an apology to crime

On Wednesday (20) , the Committee on Public Safety and Fight against Organized Crime decided to call the Minister of Environment, Carlos Minc, to explain his participation in the Marijuana March.

The author of the Requirement 143/09, Deputy Laerte Bessa (PMDB-DF), believes that, “by preaching the liberation of marijuana, the minister is making an apology to crime, which is a demeanor provided for in the Criminal Code”.

That deputy stresses that “if one does not want to prohibit freedom of expression, but imagines that a minister of State can be allowed to induct and instigate crime against public health, that means to decree anarchy in our country”.

Minc participated in the March of Marijuana, which happened in Rio de Janeiro on the 9th May. That march happened also in other 20 cities of the world. The date of the hearing will still be defined.

“It is not because that I am a minister that I would give up on doing what I believe. Most of the violence we suffer is due to traffic. The users cannot be treated as criminals” said Minc during the parade, according to the press.
