A visit to the Chamber, on Monday (11), may have contributed to enable the cooperation between Brazil and Israel in the space area. That evaluation comes from the deputies who participated in the meeting with representatives of the Israeli space agency and with undertakers related to that industry, such as industries producing satellites and rockets.

The 1st Vice-President of the Committee on Science and Technology, Communication and Computing Science, Deputy Professor Raquel Teixeira (PSDB-GO), said that that meeting should give rise to a series of debates on possible cooperation agreements.

“What they expect from Congress is the debate of issues in the airspace area, regarding the climate, environment and rocket launching. We also discussed the possibility of cooperation by using satellites in remote education. That conversation can produce information exchanges, personnel qualification and technological development”, stressed the deputy.

Seminars
The ambassador of Israel in Brazil, Giora Becher, participated in the meeting and stressed the importance of that connection with Brazilian congresspeople: “It was a very good meeting. We also discussed ways to broaden our links with the Chamber and to make seminars with deputies, experts in the airspace area and representatives of the Israeli industry.”

After the conversation with the congresspeople in Brasilia, the Israeli delegation follows to São José dos Campos (SP), where they will get to know the headquarters of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE).
