On Tuesday (2), the Committee on the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship (CCJ), approved several Legislative-Decree Bills proposed by the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense, which ratify international agreements. Those agreements still need to be approved by the House Floor, before being sent to the Senate.

West African Economic and Monetary Union: biofuels
The review presented by its rapporteur, Deputy Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI), was favorable to the constitutionality, legality, and adequate legislative technique of the understanding memorandum between Brazil and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), in the biofuels industry. That agreement was entered into in 2007, at the capital of Burkina Faso, Uagadugu.

Honduras: Defense
CCJ also approved an agreement between Brazil and Honduras, in the scope of Defense. That agreement was closed in 2007, at the capital of that Central-American country, Tegucigalpa. Its rapporteur was Deputy José Genoíno (PT-SP), who gave a favorable review to the approval of that bill.

Latvia: cultural cooperation
The cultural-operation agreement between Brazil and Latvia, entered into last year in Riga, the capital of that country of Eastern Europe, was also approved, with a favorable opinion of the rapporteur, Deputy Antonio Carlos Pannunzio (PSDB-SP).
