Federal License should be obligatory to travel agencies

Measure wants to ensure quality of services and consumers rights

The Chamber is analyzing the Bill 4388/08, proposed by the Deputy Roberto Britto (PP-BA), which conditions the opening of travel agencies to a previous license issued by federal government.

“Those establishments are not always up to the mission that is trusted to them and their unmeasured proliferation only contributes to the loss of efficiency and to the discredit on all tourism industry”, affirms the author of the bill.

Losses
The Bill provides that the license will only be granted it the rights of clients in case the agency goes bankrupt are guaranteed, and the labor is qualified, such as the services to be provided. According to the bill, regulation will be done later by the Executive Power.
