On Thursday (26), the Committee on the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship approved the agreement between Israel and Brazil, aiming at the exchange of scientific and technological information on agriculture and animal industry. The agreement is being processed as the Legislative-Decree Bill 983/08, proposed by the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense.

The rapporteur of the committee, Deputy Marcelo Itagiba (PMDB-RJ), defended the approval of the bill. He argued that the agreement is up to the requirements of the Constitution, and in its merit, will favor several activities, such as training and extension in agriculture and animal industry, irrigation techniques and marketing for agricultural and animal-industry products.

Procedure
The bill will still be voted at the House Floor, and had its origin in a message from the Executive Power (MSC 254/08).
