Fragmentos históricos

Esta exposición documenta un episodio histórico nacional, pero también sirve como registro de un momento en la historia de cada una de las piezas presentadas. Al igual que los seres vivos, los objetos llevan consigo los signos del paso del tiempo. Y del trauma.

Procedentes de diferentes países, los regalos protocolares aquí expuestos tuvieron su trayectoria modificada. Originalmente símbolos de encuentros diplomáticos y relaciones fraternales entre diferentes naciones, estos objetos fueron dañados y convertidos en cientos de fragmentos. Hoy sirven como testimonio de los eventos del 8 de enero de 2023.

De los 46 regalos en exhibición ese día, 30 se encontraron intactos. 4 sufrieron daños extremadamente graves y 10 sufrieron daños significativos, aunque de menor complejidad. 2 estaban desaparecidos, pero uno de ellos fue posteriormente devuelto al acervo de la institución.

Incluso en pedazos, las piezas de esta exposición continúan su curso y, cuando restauradas, llevarán las marcas de lo que vivieron. Las cicatrices ayudarán a contar su historia.

Historical fragments

This exhibition documents a national historical episode but also serves as a record of a moment in the history of each of the presented pieces. Like living beings, objects carry within them the signs of the passage of time. And of trauma.

Originating from different countries, the ceremonial gifts displayed here had their trajectory altered. Originally symbols of diplomatic encounters and fraternal relations between different nations, these objects were damaged and turned into hundreds of fragments. Today, they serve as a testimony to the events of January 8, 2023.

Of the 46 gifts on display that day, 30 were found intact. 4 suffered extremely severe damage, and 10 suffered significant damage, albeit of lesser complexity. 2 were missing, but one of them was later returned to the institution's collection.

Even in pieces, the items in this exhibition continue their journey and, even after restored, will bear the marks of what they experienced. The scars will help tell their story.
