Bustamante Sá

Pintor e professor. Estudou na Escola Nacional de Belas Artes, onde foi aluno de Amoedo e Rodolfo Chambelland. Em 1931, integrou o grupo fundador do Núcleo Bernardelli, em cujo aprendizado teve orientação de Manoel Santiago. No Salão Nacional de Belas Artes, conquistou, entre outros prêmios, o de viagem a cidades brasileiras em 1938 e o de viagem ao exterior em 1949. Com o prêmio de viagem, estudou em Paris na Academie Julian, de 1950 a 1952. Integrou o júri do Salão Nacional de Arte Moderna nos anos 60, e realizou individuais em galerias do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo. Dedicou-se também ao magistério, lecionando na Escola Fluminense de Belas Artes, na Associação Brasileira de Desenho e no Instituto Nacional de Educação de Surdos.

Painter and educator. Trained at the National School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro, under Amoedo and Rodolfo Chambelland, he joined the founding group of Núcleo Bernardelli in 1931, receiving mentorship from Manoel Santiago. He was recognized at the National Salon of Fine Arts with several awards, including a Brazilian travel prize (1938) and an international travel prize (1949), which enabled him to study at the Académie Julian in Paris from 1950 to 1952. Bustamante Sá served on the jury of the National Salon of Modern Art during the 1960s and held numerous solo exhibitions in galleries in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. His pedagogical practice was extensive, teaching at the Fluminense School of Fine Arts, the Brazilian Drawing Association, and the National Institute for the Education of the Deaf.
