Parliamentary Attorneyship

Responsible for defending the Chamber, its organs and members before society, due to the term of office or to institutional duties, the Parliamentary Attorneyship defends the House judicially and extrajudicially, through a lawyer, the Public Prosecution or the Advocate-General of the Union, and also promotes wide restorative publicity, with right of reply and right of compensation for property or moral damages, in case any communication organ discloses subjects which are offensive to the House or its members. It is composed by eleven members, nominated by the President of the Chamber, with a two-year term in office, and work in collaboration with the Board.

After elected, the Board nominates four of its active members to be responsible, in the office of Corregidor and Substitute Corregidors, for the maintenance of decorum, good order and discipline in the House. The Corregidor presides the inquiries which involve a deputy.
